King Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ( KG: chart) of Bristol, Tennessee, said Thursday it earned $42 million, or 17 cents per share, in its fiscal fourth quarter, compared with a loss of $31.4 million, or 13 cents a share, in the same quarter of 2002. The drug maker recorded revenue of $382.6 million in the quarter, up 41% from $272 million a year ago. King said acquisitions helped boost the results.
The stock soared 14.18% to $19.25 at market close Thursday. King shares dropped 2 cents to $19.23 in after-hours trading. |
