Rocky Brands Inc. (
RCKY: chart), footwear company, reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $77,875, or a penny a share compared with a year-ago quarter when Rocky Brands posted a net profit of $2.61 million, or 46 cents per share. Revenue declined to $70.6 million against $74.9 million in the same period a year earlier.
EFJ Inc. (
EFJI: chart), wireless communications equipment company, reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $7.79 million, or 30 cents per share compared with the same quarter last year when the company posted a net profit of $15.4 million, or 59 cents per share. Revenue declined to $23.9 million versus $29.8 million in the same period a year earlier.
Kaiser Aluminum (
KALU: chart), which makes automotive and aerospace products, said that it earned $11.9 million, or 59 cents per share, on the quarter, versus a loss of $1.14 billion, or $14.53 per share in the same period a year earlier. Revenue climbed to $336.1 million, up from $273.8 million on brisk sales of fabricated products and heat treat plates.
Piedmont Natural Gas Company Inc. (
PNY: chart), natural gas distributor, said that its first-quarter net income fell slightly to $70.7 million, or 94 cents per share, compared with $72 million, or 94 cents per share in the year-ago period. Operating revenue fell 26% to $677.2 million against $921.4 million in the same period a year earlier.
Genesco Inc. (
GCO: chart), retails stores operator, said that its fourth-quarter earnings increased to $35.3 million, or $1.35 per share, compared with a year-ago profit of $31.3 million, or $1.15 per share. On a continuing operations basis, the company said it earned $35.7 million, or $1.36 per share, in the latest quarter. This performance includes a gain of a penny per share from the recognition of gift card-related income and favorable litigation settlement. Sales jumped to $476.9 million versus $406.3 million in the same period a year earlier.
