Kraft Foods posted a sharply lower quarterly profit as the company continued to work on plans to revive its business. Altria fourth-quarter profit rose 29.3% on the strength of acquisitions, favorable currency comparisons and pricing strength internationally. Media General fourth-quarter earnings rose nearly 27%, largely boosted by revenue from company’s broadcast holdings. L-3 Communications Holdings fourth-quarter profit climbed 15%, thanks to strong sales growth. |
