Colgate-Palmolive Net Rises 18%; Avon Net Down

10:50AM New York - Colgate-Palmolive Company sales rose 0.3% and net income rose 18%. Avon Products, Inc revenue fell 3.4% and net income fell 30%.

Aetna Inc, the health insurer reported third quarter revenues rose 14.4% to $8.72 billion from $7.62 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 17.6% to $326.2 million or 73 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $277.3 million or 58 cents per share a year ago.
