ArcelorMittal Net Plunges 76%; Vossloh Sales Down 19%

2:50PM Frankfurt, Germany – ArcelorMittal sales fell 54% and net profit fell 76%. Vossloh AG sales fell 19% and net profit fell 78.8%.

ArcelorMittal, the global steel producer reported third quarter sales fell 54% to $16.17 billion from $35.20 billion a year ago. Net profit in the quarter fell 76% to $903 million or $0.60 per diluted share compared to net profit of $3.82 billion or $2.78 per share a year ago.

ArcelorMittal, in the last one year traded as high as €25.40 in September 2009 and as low as €22.94 in March 2009. Based on the yesterday’s trading closing price of €23.76 the company has a market cap of €35.89 billion.

Bayer AG, the drugmaker reported third quarter sales fell 7% to €7.39 billion from €7.95 billion a year ago. Net profit in the quarter fell 10.1% to €249 million compared to net profit of $277 million a year ago.

Daimler AG, the carmaker reported third quarter revenues fell 21% to €19.3 billion from €24.5 billion a year ago. Net profit in the quarter fell 79.5% to €41 million or €0.04 per diluted share compared to net profit of €200 million or € 0.21 per share a year ago.

The Manganese division’s third quarter turnover fell 50% to €324 million from €653 million a year ago. The Nickel division’s third quarter turnover fell 7% to €155 million from €166 million a year ago. The Alloys division’s third quarter turnover fell 36% to €157 million from €245 million a year ago.

Group turnover in second quarter fell 48% to €628 million from €1.2 billion a year ago. The Manganese division’s second quarter turnover fell 58% to €277 million from €654 million a year ago. The Nickel division’s second quarter turnover fell 38% to €154 million from €247 million a year ago. The Alloys division’s second quarter turnover fell 34% to €198 million from €300 million a year ago.

Eramet SA, in the last one year traded as high as €272.30 in October 2009 and as low as €96.06 in November 2008. Based on the yesterday’s trading closing price of €232.15 the company has a market cap of €6.11 billion.

Lisi SA, the fasteners and assembly components for aerospace supplier company said nine months revenues fell 18.8% to €529.3 million from €651.9 million a year ago. Like-for-like sales fell 18.2%. Aerospace markets revenue fell 7% to €278.3 million from €299.3 million a year ago and like-for-like sales fell 9.7%. Automotive revenues fell 28.4% to €225.1 million from €314.3 million a year ago and like-for-like sales fell 24.9%.

Lisi SA, in the last one year traded as high as €39.00 in September 2009 and as low as €19.81 in February 2009. Based on the yesterday’s trading closing price of €33.88 the company has a market cap of €349.78 million.

Vossloh AG, the transport technology supplier reported third quarter sales fell 19% to €252.4 million from €312.2 million a year ago. Net profit in the quarter fell 78.8% to €14.6 million or €1.09 per diluted share compared to net profit of €69.0 million or €4.66 per share a year ago.

Vossloh AG, in the last one year traded as high as €89.80 in July 2009 and as low as €66.26 in October 2008. Based on the yesterday’s trading closing price of €66.20 the company has a market cap of €880.74 million.
