Nautilus, Inc, a fitness products and apparel said net sales fell to $129.6 million from $137 million a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $6.4 million or 20 cents per share, compared with a profit of $2.5 million, or 8 cents per share in the year-earlier period.
Nautilus stock ( NLS: chart) rose 23 cents to $4.80.
TransGlobe Energy Corporation oil and gas explorer said total revenues for the first quarter of 2008 increased 135% to $60.4 million compared to $25.7 million a year ago. Net income declined to $4.4 million or $0.07 cents per share compared with $5.9 million or $0.10 cents per share a year ago.
TransGlobe stock ( TGA: chart) fell 8 cents to $4.82.
TNS, Inc, a data communications services said total revenue in the first quarter of 2008 increased 15.8% to $84.1 million from $72.7 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter $1.6 million or $0.06 per share compared to net loss of $3.2 million, or $0.13 per share a year ago.
TNS stock ( TNS: chart) surged $2.01 or 10% to $23.65.
Ternium S.A, a steel company said net sales increased 7% to $2.4 billion in the first quarter 2008 compared to $1.7 billion a year ago. Net income was $422.1 million or $2.11 per ADS compared with $222.1 million or $1.11 per ADS a year ago.
Ternium ( TX: chart) added $1.05 to $37.41.
Vulcan Materials Company, a producer of construction aggregates reported first quarter 2008 net sales rose 22% to $772 million compared to $630 million in the first quarter of 2007. Net income increased to $160 million or 13 cents per share compared to $199 million or $0.91 per share a year ago.
Vulcan Materials ( VMC: chart) fell $2.36 to $65.11.
Weight Watchers International, Inc a weight management and healthy meal provider said net revenues increased 9.4% to $437.0 million from $399.4 million in the first quarter of 2007. Net income for the first quarter of 2008 was $57.4 million, or $0.72 cents diluted per share versus $53.8 million, or $0.63 in the prior year period.
