The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc, the beverage bottling company reported third quarter revenues increase of 2% to $3.81 billion from $3.73 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 11% to $231 million or $1.06 per diluted share compared to net income of $260 million or $1.12 per share a year ago.

CMGI, Inc, a supply-chain and inventory-management software provider said fourth quarter revenues rose 9.4% to $276.3 million from $252.6 million a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $22.7 million or 48 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $6.2 million or 13 cents per share, a year ago.
For the fiscal year net revenue were down to $1,068 million compared to $1,143 million in fiscal 2007. Gross margin, as a percentage of revenue, increased to 12.9% from 11.5% in the previous year.
Operating income plunged to $2.4 million compared to $14.8 million in the prior fiscal year. Net income from continuing operations was $15.3 million, or $0.32 per diluted share, compared to $49.1 million or $1.00 per diluted share in fiscal 2007.
Net income for the fiscal year was $11.1 million or $0.23 per diluted share compared to $49.4 million or $1.01 per diluted share, in fiscal 2007.
