Mercury Interactive ( MERQ: chart) warned second-quarter non-GAAP earnings and revenue are seen weaker than forecast on the expected revaluation of deferred revenue resulting from foreign exchange movements and a decline in new orders. The company now estimates earnings per share to be in a 30 - 35 cents range, against its previous forecast of 33 - 37 cents a share, and the new revenue view is for a range between $200 - $205 million, compared with an earlier forecast of $205 million to $215 million.
Rite Aid Corp. ( RAD: chart) said June same-store sales climbed 0.2%. Total sales of the company declined 0.1% to $1.28 billion. Rite Aid shares gained 7 cents to $4.25 on Friday.
Alvarion Ltd. ( ALVR: chart) stock dropped 19.3% to $9.25 in early action on Instinet after the company cut outlook for its second quarter performance. The company blamed project delays and a slower than expected growth for some installations for the decline. Alvarion, which is an Israeli maker of wireless broadband equipment, now expects a loss before items of 4 to 6 cents a share in the quarter on revenue of between $46 million and $47 million. Analysts expect profit of 3 cents a share in the June period on revenue of $55.9 million.
George Wimpey PLC ( WMPY: chart) said first-half profit is likely to stay below the level of same period a year earlier. The company said the U.K. market was much slower than in the first half of 2004 and visitor levels declined 17.5%, while total completions dropped 10%. U.K. gross margins are seen 2.5 percentage points lower. |
