Cimatron Posts Fourth-Quarter Net Profit

Cimatron profit more than doubled on revenue growth, broadening of the products'' offering to new markets. Cogent fourth-quarter net loss narrowed, in line with Wall Street expectations. Take-Two first-quarter loss narrowed from last year, but business continues to be pinched as gamers transition to next-generation gaming platforms. Rockwood posted a fourth-quarter profit, reversing a year-ago loss, as sales jumped in the chemical company''s specialty, electronics and ceramics segments.

 
Cimatron Ltd. (CIMT: chart), computer aided manufacturing software products maker, said that it reaches to a fourth-quarter net profit of $557,000, 7 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $1.72 million, or 22 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Revenue climbed to $6.03 million versus $5.43 million in the same period a year earlier.

Cogent Communications Group Inc. (CCOI: chart), provides Internet access and Internet protocol communications services, reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $9.97 million, or 21 cents per share compared with a net loss of $20.3 million, or 47 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Revenue climbed to $40.5 million versus $33.2 million in the same period a year earlier.

Take-Two Interactive Software (TTWO: chart), video game maker, said that its first-quarter net loss narrowed to $21.5 million, or 30 cents per share, compared with $29.1 million, or 41 cents per share in the year-ago period. Net revenue increased to $277.3 million versus $265 million in the same period a year earlier.

Rockwood Holdings Inc. (ROC: chart), chemical maker, said that it swung to a fourth-quarter gain of $4.5 million, or 6 cents per share, compared with a loss of $17.8 million, or 24 cents per share in the year-ago period. Earnings for the quarter excluding items fell to 26 cents per share from 28 cents per share in the year-ago period. Net sales, including Groupe Novasep, were $835.5 million, up 9.6% compared to $762.4 million for the same period in the prior year. Excluding Groupe Novasep, revenue climbed to $740 million from $663 million a year ago.
