Art Technology Group Inc. (
ARTG: chart), E-commerce software provider, said that its fourth-quarter net earnings increased to $5.06 million, or 4 cents per share, compared with $3.18 million, or 3 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Revenue climbed to $32.2 million versus $25.7 million in the same period a year earlier.
McClatchy Co. (
MNI: chart), newspaper publisher, said that it swung to a fourth-quarter loss on a charge related to company’s recent sale of its flagship newspaper, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. McClatchy said it lost $279.3 million, or $3.41 per share, in the latest quarter compared with a year earlier profit of $45.4 million, or 97 cents per share. Revenue more than tripled to $673.6 million from $210 million in the same period a year earlier thanks to McClatchy''s 2006 acquisition of rival newspaper publisher Knight Ridder.
Gartner Inc. (
IT: chart), provider of market research about the information technology industry, said that its fourth-quarter net income increased by 52% to $22.57 million, or 20 cents per share, compared with $14.8 million, or 13 cents per share in the year-ago period. Adjusted earnings rose to 22 cents per share versus 16 cents per share. Revenue jumped 5% to $304 million versus $289 million in the same period a year earlier.
Perot Systems (
PER: chart), technology and outsourcing services provider, said that its fourth-quarter earnings increased to $31.4 million, or 26 cents per share, compared with a year-ago profit of $26.6 million, or 22 cents per share. Revenue climbed 14% to $601 million versus $526.7 million in the same period a year earlier.
Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (
APC: chart), oil and gas company, reported fourth-quarter earnings of $1.92 billion, or $4.13 per share, up from a year-ago equivalent profit of $875 million, or $1.87 per share. The latest results included a number of items, including a gain of $1.77 billion, or $3.80 per share, from the sale of the company''s Canadian unit. On a continuing operations basis, the company earned $186 million, or 40 cents per share. Revenue climbed to $3.12 billion compared to $1.92 billion in the same period a year earlier.
