Earnings Review

AerCap Holdings N.V (AER) plunged 8.5% or $3.41 to $36.38 after the Ireland-based aircraft leasing company said total sales in the second-quarter ending in March increased 2% from a year ago to $1.32 billion.

Net income in the quarter declined 28% to $223.1 million or $1.13 per diluted share compared to $311.5 million or $1.45 per share from the same quarter last year.

CA, Inc (CA) jumped 5.5% or $1.64 to $31.57 after the information technology stated revenues in the fourth-quarter in March fell 1% from a year ago to $1 billion.

Net income in the quarter surged 15.2% to $174 million or 42 cents per diluted share compared to $151 million or 34 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

CA estimated total revenue to increase in a range of flat to 1% or between $4.04 billion to $4.08 billion and diluted earnings per share to increase in the range of 3% to 6% or $1.92 to $1.97.

Jack in the Box Inc (JACK) soared 14.2% or $9.24 to $74.38 after the quick-service restaurants operator said revenues in the second-quarter ending on April 10 rose 0.9% from a year ago to $361.2 million.

Jack in the Box system-wide same-store sales in the quarter were flat while Qdoba system-wide same-store sales rose 2.1% and company restaurants same-store sales jumped 3.1%.

Net income in the quarter soared 24.8% to $28.7 million or 84 cents per diluted share compared to $23 million or 60 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

The restaurant company forecasted same-store sales at Jack in the Box ranging from approximately 2% decrease to flat from 5.5% increase in a year ago quarter and same-store sales at Qdoba company restaurants ranging from between 1% decline to increase 1%.

Kohl''s Corporation (KSS) tumbled 11.9% or $4.60 to $34.07 after the specialty department store operator reported sales in the first-quarter ending in April dropped 3.7% from a year ago to $3.97 billion.

Comparable store sales in the quarter slumped 3.9%.

Net income in the quarter plunged 87% to $17 million or 9 cents per diluted share compared to $127 million or 63 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

Prestige Brands Holdings, Inc (PBH) fell 28 cents to $55.82 after the drug stores operator stated revenues in the fourth-quarter in March jumped 9.4% from a year ago to $207.9 million.

Net income in the quarter declined 41.6% to $13.9 million or 26 cents per diluted share compared to $23.8 million or 45 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

The healthcare and cleaning products retailer forecasted fiscal 2017 revenue to increase between 6% and 8% and earnings per share in the range of $2.30 to $2.36.

Ralph Lauren Corp (RL) gained 60 cents to $85.10 after the lifestyle products designer said net revenues in the fourth-quarter on April 2 slid 1% from a year ago to $1.83 billion.

Net income in the quarter tumbled 66.9% to $41 million or 49 cents per diluted share compared to $124 million or $1.41 per share from the same quarter last year.

Vista Outdoor Inc (VSTO) jumped 3.1% or $1.46 to $48.43 after the outdoor sports and recreation products maker reported revenues in the fourth-quarter in March advanced 26% from a year ago to $612.3 million.

Net income in the quarter soared 134.6% to $37.3 million or 61 cents per diluted share compared to $15.9 million or 25 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

Vista Outdoor forecasted revenues in the year between $2.72 billion and $2.78 billion and earnings per share in the range of $2.65 to $2.85.
