Credit Suisse net swung to profit to 1.05 billion francs. Daimler profit climbed 8% to €2.3 billion on 19% increase in revenues. Pearson is in talk to sell FT Group to Germany-based Axel Springer. Syngenta net plunged 12%. Unilever net climbed 11%.

Alstom India quarterly profit tumbled 46%. Bajaj Auto net soared 37% on 11% increase in revenues. CEAT Tyre net surged. Lupin net declined 16%. Network18 net loss narrowed. Muthoot Finance net rose but revenues fell 4%.

Market indexes on Wall Street declined after Apple and Microsoft declined. Apple reported 38% surge in fiscal third quarter and sold 35% more iPhones, but fell short of some expectations. Microsoft Corp reported its largest quarterly loss ever. Tech stocks weakness weighed on European indexes.

Apple revenues and profit surged above 33%. Boeing net plunged 33% but revenues jumped 11%. Illinois Tool net tumbled 68%. Microsoft net swung to a loss. Whirlpool net fell 1% while sales climbed 11%. Yahoo net swung to a loss.

European market indexes declined between 0.6% and 1.5%. ARM net surged 38%. easyJet revenue per seat declined 5% but forecasted higher pre-tax profit for the year. K&S once again rejected new merger approach from Canada-based rival Potash Corp. Zooplus sales soared 34%.

Market indexes in Sydney dropped following weak closures in Europe and in New York and consumer price index in the June quarter increased 0.7%, matching expectations. BHP forecasted lower petroleum production in 2016 but iron ore production will continue to rise.

Sensex in Mumbai traded at a 3-month high on a surge in energy sector stocks. Idea Cellular said quarterly profit climbed 28%. JSW Energy net declined 15%. Bajaj Finance profit surged 30% on 33% increase in revenues. PVR jumped 5%. Cairn India net declined 24%.
