Australian market indexes traded lower on the weakness in iron ore miners and the latest private measure of confidence showed smaller than expected increase. Myer Holdings, the department store operator reported weaker than expected sales and comparable sales.

Burberry profit dropped 7% to £108.4 million while revenues soared 14%. Enel net plunged 58% to €272 million on 3% decrease in revenue. Sainsbury net swung to a loss of £344 million on flat revenues. Playtech raised €297 million through a bond offering. SSE profit tumbled 32% to £251 million.

Abbott quarterly net surged 41% and Adani net swung to profit. Aditya Birla profit soared 55%. Bajaj Hindusthan and HMT losses narrowed. Oil India net and revenue declined. Power Grid net rose 3%. Tata Steel net profit jumped 37%. Uflex net surged 42% on 9% increase in revenues.

Atwood Oceanics net and revenue soared 10%. CST Brands surged 50% but revenue fell 3%. D.R. Horton profit climbed 19% on 38% increase in revenue. MTS Systems net tumbled 49%. Rackspace Hosting net soared 15%. Woodward net fell 1%.

Topix Index, the broader Japanese equity market index closed at a six-year high and the yen deepened losses in the year. The Nikkei 225 Stock Average soared 2.1%, the highest close since 2007. Chiyoda Corp reported quarterly net dropped 20%.

Maersk net surged 25% $1.50 billion. BMW October sales soared 11%. Henkel fell 4% to €440 million but kept sales and earnings outlook. Hochtief net profit rose 3% to €155 million. UniCredit surged 79% to €722 million. Vodafone profit plunged 70% to £5.5 billion.
