BAE Systems secured a contract worth £348 million from the U.K. government. Just Eat profit surged after revenue climbed 58% to £70 million. Ladbrokes profit plunged 50% to £24 million. Serco net swung to a loss to £6 million. Prudential profit soared 215% to £1.2 billion.

Balfour Beatty net narrowed to £27 million and rejected a revised merger proposal from Carillion. Banco Popolare Societa net swung to profit €25 million. BMW said July Sales jumped 3.6% and worldwide sales soared 8%. Bilfinger profit plunged 19% to €55 million.

Nikkei Average in Tokyo surged 2.4% after the government controlled pension fund increased equity asset margin limit ahead of expectations. The revision surprised the market and formal target asset allocation is set to be revised in September.
