U.S. stocks wavered and consumer confidence index declined from a six-year high last month. Trading volume is expected to be high today as several funds adjust holdings to reflect changes in indexes. BlackBerry plunged 25% after it missed earnings and revenues targets.

Core consumer prices reported by the government stopped falling in Japan in May and labor market demand increased to a five-year high. However, price increase is significantly below the Bank of Japanís target of 2%. The Nikkei index soared 3.5%.

U.S. indexes rallied for the third day in a row and leading indexes gained as much as 1%. Weekly jobless claims declined and personal spending rose, lifting market sentiment. Average mortgage rate rose to a 2-year high to 4.46%.

Bed Bath & Beyond sales climbed 18% but net slid 2%. ConAgra net swung to profit as sales jumped 34% to $4.6 billion. H.B. Fuller net surged to $25.9 million. Paychex net and diluted earnings in the quarter were flat. UniFirst revenue declined but net rose.

Betfair said sales for the year were flat and net swung to £49.4 million loss. Carillion secured £130 million hotel construction contract in Abu Dhabi. DS Smith sales climbed but profit for the year declined to £77.1 million. Seadrill increased its stake in Sevan Drilling.
