U.S. Movers: Apache, ArcelorMittal, Nvidia, Priceline.com, Walt Disney

10:50 AM New York Apache third-quarter net surged 86% but revenues fell 4%. ArcelorMittal net loss narrowed. Nvidia net plunged 43%. Priceline.com net climbed 40% on 41% surge in sales. Telus net jumped 10%. Walt Disney profit soared 12%. Westar Energy net fell 4%.

Apache Corporation (APA) gained 51 cents to $89.10 after the energy company reported total revenues in the third-quarter ending in September slipped 4% to $4.02 billion. Net income in the quarter surged 86% to $300 million or 75 cents a diluted share compared to $161 million or 41 cents.

ArcelorMittal SA (MT) jumped 2.7% or 45 cents to $17.04 after the steel producer stated total revenues in the third-quarter ending in September slid 0.3% to $19.6 billion. Net loss in the quarter narrowed to $193 million or 12 cents a diluted share compared to $652 million or 42 cents.

Cablevision Systems Corporation (CVC) rose 4 cents to $15.67 after the cable service provider said revenues in the second-quarter ending in September grew 0.8% to $1.57 billion. Net income in the quarter surged 112% to $135.4 million or 51 cents a diluted share compared to $63.8 million or 24 cents.

Nvidia Corporation (NVDA) climbed 3.9% or 56 cents to $15.11 after the graphics chips maker said total revenues in the third-quarter ending in September jumped 8% to $1.05 billion. Net income in the quarter plunged 43% to $118.7 million or 20 cents a diluted share compared to $209.1 million or 33 cents.

Priceline Com Incorporated (PCLN) climbed 4% or $40.49 to $1,062.29 the online travel company sales in the third-quarter ending in September soared 41% to $1.58 billion. Net income in the quarter climbed 39.6% to $832.9 million or $15.7 a diluted share compared to $596.6 million or $11.66.

Telus Corporation (TU) increased 33 cents to $34.97 after the Canada-based telecommunication company reported revenues in the third-quarter ending in September advanced 4% to $2.87 billion. Net income in the quarter jumped 10% to $356 million or 56 cents a diluted share compared to $323 million or 49 cents.

Universal Display Corporation (OLED) surged 23% or $6.70 to $35.85 after the display screens maker stated total revenues in the third-quarter ending in September jumped 162% to $32.8 million. Net in the quarter swung to a profit $5.54 million or 12 cents a diluted share compared to a loss of $5.47 million or 12 cents.

The Walt Disney Company (DIS) gained 1.5% or $1.02 to $68.17 after the entertainment company said revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in September climbed 7% to $11.6 billion. Net income in the quarter soared 12% to $1.39 billion or 78 cents a diluted share compared to $1.24 billion or 69 cents.

Westar Energy, Inc. (WR) slumped 1.6% or 50 cents to $30.89 after the electric service provider reported total revenues in the third-quarter ending in September nearly flat to $695.1 million. Net income in the quarter fell 4% to $133 million or $1.04 a diluted share compared to $139 million or $1.10.
