India Movers: ABB, Adani, Apollo Hospitals, PTC India, Tata Motors

6:00 PM Mumbai Adani Enterprises consolidated net profit in the quarter surged 53% and Apollo Hospitals net climbed 27%. Dhanlaxmi Bank net swung to profit. PTC India net plunged 62% and PI Industries net jumped 6%.

The Sensex Index gained 38.79 to close at 20,286.12 The CNX Nifty rose 17.40 to close at 6,187.30.

Gainers & Losers

ABB Limited rose 0.5% to Rs 663.35 after the company denied market rumors of delisting the company from the stock exchanges.

Adani Enterprises Limited increased 3.3% to Rs 243 despite the company reporting fourth quarter swung to a loss of Rs 73.6 crore compared to profit of Rs 170.5 crore a year earlier.

On consolidated basis, net profit in the quarter surged 53% to Rs 474 crore and total group revenues climbed Rs 11,821 crore from Rs 10,825 crore a year ago period.

For the year, consolidated net profit declined 12% to Rs 1,613 crore and group total consolidated revenues soared to Rs 47,352 crore compared to Rs 39,904 crore.

Ambuja Cements Limited slipped 1.2% to Rs 188.20 after the competition appellate tribunal order on penalty of Rs 1,163 crore.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, Ltd plunged 6.7% to Rs 996.10 after net profit in the fourth quarter climbed 27.3% to Rs 75.52 crore and total revenues jumped 13.6% to Rs 852.85 crore.

For the year, net profit surged 33.8% to Rs 309.12 crore and total revenues soared 18.4% to Rs 3,348.82 crore.

Bannari Amman Spinning Mills Ltd gained 1.2% to Rs. 109.85 after net profit in the fourth quarter surged 104.4% to Rs 5.07 crore and sales jumped 34.3% to Rs 142.67 crore.

For the year, net profit swung to Rs 27.32 crore compared to net loss of Rs 16.38 crore a year ago. For the year, sales climbed 22.3% to Rs 550.29 crore.

Dhanlaxmi Bank Limited rose 0.2% to Rs 46.55 after the fourth quarter net profit swung to Rs 28.66 crore compared to net loss of Rs 86.51 crore.

For the year, net profit of Rs 2.62 crore compared with net loss of Rs 115.63 crore and Total revenue dropped 7.5% to Rs 1,422.30 crore.

The ratio of gross non-performing assets advanced to 3.36% at the end of March from 2.93% and provisions and contingencies surged 177% to Rs 32.88 crore.

PTC India Limited declined 4.2% to Rs 60.45 after net profit in the fourth quarter plunged 61.7% to Rs 24.23 crore and revenues declined 33.6% to Rs 77.07 crore.

For the year, net profit dropped 32.4% to Rs 104.16 crore and revenues decreased 6.7% to Rs 286.52 crore.

PI Industries Ltd slid 0.1% to Rs 129.65 after the fourth quarter net profit jumped 6% to Rs 23.09 crore and sales surged 40.6% to Rs 328.69 crore.

For the full-year, net profit dropped 4.2% to Rs 96.34 crore and sales soared 31.2% to Rs 1,147.56 crore.

Tata Motors Limited slid 0.3% to Rs 302.40 after its Singapore based subsidiary TML Holdings Pte Ltd issued and allotted S$350 million or $280 million of senior notes at an interest rate of 4.25% maturing of 2018.
