Earnings Review

Activision Blizzard, Inc (ATVI) tumbled 11.4% or $3.48 to $27.03 after the online mobile and tablet games developer reported revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in December declined 14.6% from a year ago to $1.35 billion.

Net income in the quarter plunged 55.9% to $159 million or 21 cents per diluted share compared to $361 million or 49 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

Corporate Office Properties Trust (OFC) gained 1.2% or 25 cents to $21.11 after the real estate developer said total revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in December slipped 2.5% from a year ago to $143.3 million.

Net income in the quarter surged to $55.8 million or 59 cents per diluted share compared to $1.4 million or 1 cent per share from the same quarter last year.

Dentsply International Inc (XRAY) plunged 4.4% or $2.51 to $54 after the dental products maker reported net sales in the fourth-quarter ending in December dropped 6.7% from a year ago to $671.1 million.

Net income in the quarter tumbled 30.8% to $58.6 million or 41 cents per diluted share compared to $84.7 million or 59 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

ITT Corporation (ITT) soared 7.1% or $2.15 to $32.29 after the industrial equipment maker stated revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in December increased 1% from a year ago to $666.8 million.

Net income in the quarter jumped 8.9% to $36.7 million or 41 cents per diluted share compared to $33.7 million or 36 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

LifePoint Health Inc (LPNT) slumped 3% or $2.06 to $63.91 after the healthcare services provider said revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in December advanced 8.5% from a year ago to $1.37 billion.

Net income in the quarter surged to $53 million or $1.16 per diluted share compared to $22.4 million or 48 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

Portland General Electric Company (POR) fell 10 cents to $38.92 after the electric utility provider reported revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in December slid 0.2% from a year ago to $499 million.

Net income in the quarter jumped 18.6% to $51 million or 57 cents per diluted share compared to $43 million or 55 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

For the year, the company estimated diluted earnings per share in the range of $2.20 to $2.35.

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc (RRGB) surged 7.4% or $4.32 to $63.09 after the dining restaurant chain said revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in December rose 1.5% from a year ago to $286.3 million.

Comparable restaurant revenue in the quarter decreased 2%.

Net income in the quarter soared to $11.7 million or 84 cents per diluted share compared to $3.9 million or 28 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

The restaurant chain forecasted total revenues in the fiscal 2016 to grow between 8.5% and 9.5% and operating income in the range of $155 million to $165 million.

Ventas, Inc (VTR) fell 53 cents to $48.19 after the real estate investment company reported total revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in December jumped 14.9% from a year ago to $841.3 million.

Net income in the quarter surged 16.3% to $124.7 million or 37 cents per diluted share compared to $107.2 million or 36 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

Verisign, Inc (VRSN) jumped 3.1% or $2.30 to $76.46 after the domain services provider said revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in December increased 6.5% from a year ago to $273 million.

Net income in the quarter jumped 56.9% to $102 million or 76 cents per diluted share compared to $65 million or 48 cents per share from the same quarter last year.
