GE, Google, Honeywell Rise; Comerica, Domino's Pizza Decline

12:55 PM New York – Comerica net plunged 9%. Domino''s profit surged 19%. GE net swung to a loss. Google profit surged 17% on 11% increase in revenues. Honeywell netclimbed 8% but revenues declined 5%. J B Hunt net soared 11%. Grainger net jumped 7%.

Tollbooth Index jumped 1.1% or 125.81 to 11,016.73.

Earnings Review

Comerica Inc (CMA) declined 5.2% or $2.60 to $47.87 after the financial services provider said net interest income in the second-quarter ending in June rose 1.2% to $421 million from a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter plunged 9.4% to $135 million or 73 cents per diluted share compared to $149 million or 80 cents from the same quarter last year.

Domino''s Pizza, Inc (DPZ) plunged 5.1% or $5.81 to $109.76 after the pizza retail chain reported revenue in the second-quarter ending on June 14 climbed 8.5% to $488.5 billion from a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter surged 19.2% to $45.9 million or 81 cents per diluted share compared to $38.5 million or 67 cents from the same quarter last year.

Domino’s said domestic same store stores in the quarter climbed 12.8% and international division also posted strong results with same store sales growth of 6.7%, marked 86th consecutive quarterly growth in international same store sales.

General Electric Company (GE) rose 14 cents to $27.18 after the diversified conglomerate reported total revenue in the second-quarter ending in June increased 2% to $32.75 billion from a year ago period.

Net in the quarter swung to a loss of $1.36 billion or 13 cents per diluted share compared to profit of $3.55 billion or 35 cents from the same quarter last year.

GE’s Industrial revenue in the quarter was flat at $26.9 billion and oil-and-gas equipment revenues declined 15% to $4.06 billion.

Google Inc (GOOG) surged 14.8% or $85.55 to $665.40 after the search engine services provider said revenue in the second-quarter ending in June soared 11% to $17.73 billion from a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter surged 17.3% to $3.93 billion or $4.93 per diluted share compared to $3.35 billion or $4.88 from the same quarter last year.

Google said revenues in advertising segment in the quarter jumped 11% to $16.02 billion and revenues in Google websites business soared 13% to $12.4 billion while revenues in network members'' websites increased 2% to $3.62 billion from a year ago.

Honeywell International Inc (HON) increased 1.9% or $2.04 to $105.61 after the aerospace products and services provider reported net sales in the second-quarter ending in June dropped 4.6% to $9.78 billion from a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter climbed 8.2% to $1.19 billion or $1.51 per diluted share compared to $1.10 million or $1.38 from the same quarter last year.

J B Hunt Transport Services Inc (JBHT) rose 1.3% or $1.13 to $85.92 after the transportation and logistics company said total revenue in the second-quarter ending in June fell 0.5% to $1.54 billion from a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter climbed 10.7% to $103.4 million or 88 cents per diluted share compared to $93.4 million or 79 cents from the same quarter last year.

W W Grainger Inc (GWW) gained 46 cents to $232.82 after the industrial maintenance and repairing services provider said net sales in the second-quarter ending in June rose 0.4% to $2.52 billion from a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter jumped 7.1% to $220.5 million or $3.25 per diluted share compared to $205.9 million or $2.94 from the same quarter last year.
