12 PM New York Buckle reported net flat. Best Buy net nearly double on 2.2% increase in comparable sales. Brady net plunged 43%. Cyberonics net climbed 25% on 5% increase in revenues. Dollar Tree profit rose 6%. Donaldson net climbed 9%. L Brands profit surged 42%. Salesforce net loss narrowed.

Earnings Review

The Buckle, Inc (BKE) jumped 2.6% or $1.31 to $50.77 after the apparel and footwear retailer said net sales in the third-quarter ending on November 1 increased 1.9% to $292.2 million from a year ago period. Comparable store sales in the quarter fell 0.3%.

Net income in the quarter was flat at $40.6 million from a year ago period and diluted earnings per share slipped to 84 cents from 85 cents a same quarter last year.

Best Buy Co Inc (BBY) surged 7.7% or $2.72 to $38.26 after the electronics retailer reported revenues in the third-quarter ending on November 1 fell 0.5% to $9.38 billion from a year ago period. Comparable store sales in the quarter jumped 2.2%.

Net earnings in the quarter surged 98.1% to $107 million or 30 cents a diluted share compared to $54 million or 16 cents from a same quarter last year.

Brady Corp (BRC) rose 6 cents to $23.56 after the identification solution provider said sales in the first-quarter ending in October gained 0.9% to $310.2 million form a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter plunged 43.1% to $13.6 million or 26 cents a diluted share compared to $23.9 million or 46 cents from a same quarter last year.

Cyberonics, Inc (CYBX) soared 13.3% or $6.42 to $54.93 after the medical devices maker said net sales in the second-quarter ending on October 24 jumped 4.7% to $73.4 million from a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter climbed 24.5% to $17.3 million or 64 cents a diluted share compared to $13.9 million or 50 cents from a same quarter last year.

Dollar Tree, Inc. (DLTR) jumped 4.8% or $3 to $65.62 after the dip-discount retailer said net sales in the third-quarter ending on November 1 climbed 11.7% to $2.10 billion from a year ago period. Comparable store sales in the quarter rose 5.9%.

Net income in the quarter rose 6.1% to $133 million or 64 cents a diluted share compared to $125.4 million or 58 cents from a same quarter last year.

Donaldson Company, Inc. (DCI) declined 5.9% or $2.54 to $40.21 after the filtration system maker said net sales in the first-quarter ending in October were nearly flat at $597 million from a year ago period.

Net earnings in the quarter advanced 9% to $56 million or 40 cents a diluted share compared to $62 million or 41 cents from a same quarter last year.

L Brands, Inc. (LB) gained 1.7% or $1.34 to $79.03 after the specialty retailer stated net sales in the third-quarter ending on November 1 advanced 7% to $2.32 billion from a year ago period. Comparable store sales in the quarter climbed 5%.

Net earnings in the quarter surged 41.9% to $131.8 million or 44 cents a diluted share compared to $92.9 million or 31 cents from a same quarter last year.

Salesforce.com, Inc. (CRM) dropped 3.1% or $1.88 to $59.14 after the cloud computing service provider said net revenues in the third-quarter ending in October soared 29% to $1.38 billion from a year ago period. Comparable store sales in the quarter climbed 5%.

Net loss in the quarter narrowed to $38.9 million or 6 cents a diluted share compared to $124.4 million or 21 cents from a year ago period.
