Oracle Net Rise 2%, Finisar Net Jumps 80%

12:00 PM New York Finisar fourth-quarter net jumped 80% to $13 million. Oracle fourth-quarter net rose 2% to $2.8 billion. Smith & Wesson fourth-quarter net surged 63% to $36 million.

Earnings Review

Finisar Corporation (FNSR), the optical cables provider said revenues in the fourth-quarter ending on May 1 slid 0.4% from a year ago to $318.8 million.

Net income in the quarter jumped 79.5% to $13.1 million or 12 cents per diluted share compared to $7.3 million or 7 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

Oracle Corporation (ORCL), the enterprise software maker reported total revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in May fell 1% from a year ago to $10.59 billion.

Net income in the quarter rose 2% to $2.81 billion or 66 cents per diluted share compared to $2.76 billion or 62 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

Smith & Wesson Holding Corp (SWHC), the firearms maker said net sales in the fourth-quarter ending in April soared 22.2% from a year ago to $221.1 million.

Net income in the quarter surged 62.6% to $35.6 million or 63 cents per diluted share compared to $21.9 million or 40 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

The company forecasted diluted earnings per share in the first-quarter in the range of 46 cents to 50 cents.
