OmniVision Net Jumps; Big Lots, Lions Gate Net Drop

Earnings Review

Big Lots, Inc (BIG), the closeout retailer said net sales in the first-quarter ending on May 3 rose 1.1% to $1.28 billion. Comparable sales in the quarter increased 0.9%.

Net income in the quarter plunged 70% to $3.35 million or 6 cents a diluted share compared to $32.3 million or 56 cents.

Genesco Inc (GCO), the footwear, apparel and accessory retailer reported net sales in the first-quarter ending on May 3 soared 6.3% to $628.8 million. Comparable sales in the quarter rose 1%.

Net earnings in the quarter fell 3% to $14 million or 59 cents a diluted share compared to $14.4 million or 61 cents.

Guess, Inc (GES), the apparel and accessory retailer stated revenue in the first-quarter ending on May 3 declined 4.8% to $523 million. Comparable sales in the quarter slipped 3.8%.

Net in the quarter swung to a loss of $2.10 million or 3 cents a diluted share compared to a profit of $9.92 million or 12 cents.

Infoblox Inc (BLOX), the automated network controller said total net revenue in the third-quarter ending in April jumped 5% to $61 million.

Net loss in the quarter widened to $7.4 million or 14 cents a diluted share compared to $0.3 million or 1 cent.

Lions Gate Entertainment Corp (LGF), the entertainment company stated revenue in the year ending in fourth-quarter ending in March dropped 8.1% to $721.9 million.

Net income in the quarter tumbled 70% to $49.1 million or 33 cents a diluted share compared to $163 million or $1.10.

OmniVision Technologies, Inc (OVTI), the image-sensor devices maker reported revenue in the fourth-quarter slumped 5.9% to $331 million.

Net income in the quarter surged 69.7% to $15.1 million or 26 cents a diluted share compared to $8.9 million or 17 cents.

Splunk Inc (SPLK), the software developer reported total revenue in the first-quarter ending in April climbed 50% to $85.9 million.

Net loss in the quarter widened to $50.8 million or 43 cents a diluted share compared to $16.1 million or 16 cents.
