World markets focused on the second instalment of cheap loans from the European Central Bank allowing politicians to find ways to stimulate growth. Asian markets gained after Japan and South Korea reported manufacturing advances and growth in India faltered. Gold and silver dropped more than 4%.

World markets continued their weekly advance after markets in Europe joined the rising markets in Americas and in Asia. For the year so far, emerging markets have attracted $19 billion in new capital. For the year the S&P index is up 8% and markets in Asia advance double digits.

U.S. stocks traded higher after indexes declined for the first time last week as investors focused on domestic earnings and events. Industrials, energy and technology sectors led the broad rally today. Oil jumped above $100 on new tension linked to Iran and Saudi Arabia.
