Market indexes in Mumbai rebounded and the rupee eased. Yes Bank net income in the quarter jumped 28% and Wipro net in the quarter rose 2% on 4% increase in revenues.

On Wall Street market indexes struggled to rise and investors remained cautious on the earnings front. The rise of dollar against the euro and collapse in oil and commodities prices are expected to offer a strong headwinds to earnings. Mylan soared on a takeover approach by Teva.

Tokyo market indexes closed higher following a rebound in New York and European markets. Daiichi Sankyo said it plans to exit from its investment in India-based generic pharmaceuticals maker Sun Pharma. Yamada Denki said latest fiscal year declined 1.7%.

Australian indexes traded higher and the Aussie dollar held firm after the RBA minutes of meeting suggested an easing bias. Rio Tinto said global iron ore production in the first-quarter increased by 12% shipment by 9%. Brambles estimate annual underlying profit to increase 13%.

Du Pont net plunged 29%. Harley-Davidson net slid 1%. IBM profit dropped 2% on 12% decline in revenues. Kimberly Clark profit plummeted 13%. Lockheed Martin profit and revenues declined. TD Ameritrade net swung to profit. Under Armour net fell 2%.

ARM Holdings net surged 36% to £85 million. Associated British Foods profit tumbled 63% to £124 million after revenues barely rose 1%. Actelion net soared 25% to 159 million francs on 10% increase in revenues. SAP profit plunged 23% to €414 million despite revenues surged.

Adani Power agreed to acquire Hyderabad-based Lanco Infratech controlled Udupi Power worth ₹6,300 crore. Sun Pharma said Japan-based Daiichi Sankyo plans to sell its entire stake of 8.3% worth $3.6 billion in the company. Hindustan Zinc said net in the quarter rose 6%.

Market indexes on Wall Street soared and crude continued to gain after People’s Bank of China joined the ECB and the U.S. Fed in stimulating the economy. European markets rebounded but markets in China, India and Japan eased.

Germany led the advance in European markets after a week of losses.Telenet, subsidiary of Liberty Global agreed to acquire Base from KPN for €1.33 billion. Nomad agreed to acquire Iglo Foods for €2.6 billion from Permira funds.
